<p>i&#8217;m always excited for a new year. i know, i know &#8211; most of us don&#8217;t last a month or two in our resolutions. but i still love the new-smell of a whole new year. i see it as a fresh start to be anyone or do anything i want. every year i decide what will be my annual focus. i&#8217;ve learned that resolutions like &#8220;work out more&#8221; or &#8220;diet&#8221; or &#8220;go to a movie once a week&#8221; don&#8217;t work as well  for me as selecting one thing to focus on.</p>

<p>i&#8217;ve never been able to accomplish much beyond my daily to-do lists if i don&#8217;t make up my mind to change. last year, my resolution was to stop fearing and worrying. i come from  along line of worry-wort&#8217;s and i knew that this habit to over-think, over-fret and over-fear everything was killing me. it was causing unneeded stress as a lot of times it seems i&#8217;m worrying over something no one else cares about. all this worry was robbing me of peace in my life.</p>
<p>365 days later and i&#8217;m a different person. i&#8217;m still learning but what a year it has been. i&#8217;ve said goodbye to worry in ways i never dreamed possible. i&#8217;ve made decisions to stop engaging in areas that cause me to fret. i&#8217;ve let go of worrying about  minutia that doesn&#8217;t matter. i&#8217;ve learned to let go&#8230; and i&#8217;m happier for it.</p>
<p>so what will you determine in your mind to change about yourself, your life, your choices&#8230;we could go on and on.</p>
<p>we are not perfect, we&#8217;re people. but golly, it feels good to get better with the passing of another year, doesn&#8217;t it?</p>

<p>as we expected, we had a smaller turnout for rent payments this month in order to take advantage of our gift card drawing for those tenants who pay their rent on time (by the 1st).  between the holidays and our office closure many people are just too busy to get the rent in on time. january and july are historically the worst payment months so plan ahead so you can participate in our drawing. for these drawings that fall on a day our office is closed, we will check the mail for payments as well as include those rent we recieved ahead of time. for those of you who got it in, you had great odds this month and i’m pleased to announce our two first winners of 2012:</p>

<p>if you have a rental emergency which cannot wait until we return, please call our office and wait for the option to be transferred to our mobile line. once there, leave us a message making sure to leave your name, rental address and your phone number as we will be spending time with family and friends and may not have access to our database in order to obtain your contact information.</p>
<p>we wish you all a very happy holiday season! make amends with those you love and remember not to loose sight of the little things that make our lives memorable.</p>
