stay-cations & eggnog
hello dwellers….so this is my first blog, i wanted to let this be a peek into my brain. what joel mchale would call (if he was so inclined): “what is camille thinking about?”
i enjoy seasonal traditions. any excuse will do: getting my irish-green on in march and seeing discounts on cabbage at the grocery, or greeting costumed kids with the candy i craved at their age in october. but nothing brings a smile to my face more than christmas. it includes all of the senses. smelling the evergreens or sweets baking, seeing the red and green lights on the lloyd towers, making paper snowflakes (I doubt we’ll have the real thing in portland). i love the television specials and movies that play this time of year: charlie brown, the sound of music, die hard. (yes, it IS a holiday movie, if you’re old enough!)
because we lived elsewhere for over ten years I’m especially excited about the portland-style celebrations i remember from high school: Walking down peacock lane, ice-skating in pioneer square, going to the singing christmas tree at the civic (or whatever its called now). and there are some new things i’ve only heard about that sound like fun: did you know there’s special holiday light displays at the zoo? And in the grotto? i plan to visit saturday market for last minute gift ideas, and maybe try getting a caroling group together in our neighborhood. i’m definitely going to have a “stay-cation” this december and enjoy the city. If you happen to do the same, look for me! most likely i’ll have a candy cane in one hand and a copy of the tribune in the other…

tech dweller here…i just thought i might mention to you that we DID have snow this christmas after all. i personally blame you and chief for the snowcastrophe we have experienced since you probably brought it all here with all the paper snowflakes y’all been making.

Ok, Mom Dweller here. Calm down Tech Dweller-it couldn’t have been that bad. I know it was for folks that aren’t used to the snow, but what is life without an occurance in your life to make you REALLY, fully appreciate the good times? I personally loved the snowflakes and by the way, think the new office looks fantastic!! Light, open, airy and very welcoming. You hit the mark Chief Dweller!!!!!! And Home Dweller, your cheerfull smile makes the first impression very warm and friendly. Great job!!!

You know I so LOVE having those snowflakes on the windows, that I’m already wondering what the next theme decoration could be. Maybe I’ll cut heart shapes out of the larger snowflakes and call them doilies! ; D

You are SO funny Home Dweller! Should I call you HD? You are a high deff type of person.
right? I love the snowflakes as well, and making hearts is the next holiday “theme”. But beware! Then you will be stuck for eternity, cutting out shapes for everything like bunnies or eggs for easter, flags and fireworks shapes for 4th of July, etc. The possibilies are unending. You will be stuck–and how will you get all those vacancies filled? You will be the best multi-tasker, right? Later, md
